Achieve good grades throughout the year
As I look back now, I think I could have done better with this goal, even if English isn’t my best class. I achieved an average of a B+, when I was hoping for at least a low A. A major thing that stopped me from achieving my goal was the speeches. I got a B on every one, because public speaking is not my strong suit, nor do I like it.
Fix spelling and grammar errors in my writing
Thinking back on the year, I think I worked very hard at this, and mostly fixed the errors. I think I need to learn to reread my writing more carefully to do this, or have someone else help me too. I hit a couple road blocks with not taking the time to look at carefully to revise much, especially with my research papers.
Think of more interesting topics to write about
Thinking back, I think I achieved this too, becasue my topics were more gripping and entertaining this year than before. It still took me a couple of tries of different ideas before I found one that worked for me. I think a roadblock with this was my creativity. I’ve never been the most creative person, and I can’t ever decide anything, which is hard for me to decide what to write about.
